Megan McCormick’s career as an artist, instrumentalist and producer spans a course of eighteen years. During the first few years, McCormick worked as a songwriter at Universal Music Publishing which led to a recording contract with Warner Music Group’s indie label Rykodisk.
After a decade of living in Nashville and recording and touring as a solo artist, McCormick focused in providing support as a live and session musician and producer for a variety of artists (Jenny Lewis, Allison Russell, HAERTS, and Mindy Smith). Megan also appeared in five seasons of the TV show NASHVILLE and starred in the film Born in Bristol, playing Sara Carter of The Carter Family.
McCormick’s recent work includes album production for other artists, co-founding an artist collective (Are and Be Recordings) with partner Amanda Fields, and releasing solo and collaborative recordings.
Recently, Megan has served as a Music Director for concerts, including Love Rising, a fundraising event in support of the LGBTQIA+ community in TN (created by Allison Russell), and has received a nomination for Instrumentalist of the Year from the Americana Music Association, as well as a Grammy win for the album, The Returner, by Allison Russell.
